Yeah sorry this person has “major depression”, I bet they have like survivor’s remorse after escaping genocide or postpartum depression or something serious like that. That’s probably what’s going on here. Probably something like that. Probably not like over exaggerated standard issue teen angst. But like, probably something super bad.
‘Major Depression’ is a DSM IV diagnostic term (Major Depressive Disorder). There’s different diagnostic codes - mild, moderate, severe, etc. Saying “I have blah” isn’t entirely meaningful, if your therapist/shrink rates you as “mild” in the actual diagnosis.
(I have Major Depression, OCPD, and OCD. I’m married to a wonderful woman and I have a great job. I take my meds and see my therapist for more-or-less conventional cognitive behavioral therapy, aka “talk therapy”. I don’t get to put a sign up about anything. What % am I?)
